| Shabby Says:|
Today, it can be argued, that due to modern weapons, that the lethal-ness of war is so great, that there can be no possibility of net gain by either side. In other words - no one can possibly win ... so why continue with wars?

AskShabby - is a Peace Driven Vermont Company.
What Does 'A Peace Driven Company Mean?'
It means, exactly what it says. Shabby is on a drive for World Peace. Everything Shabby does is in the spirit of World Peace.
The weekly radio show I do, 'Shabby's History Hour', always carries the message of Peace in the end. Yeah, yeah, I know, sometimes it seems like we're bashing the US
Goverment or George W. Bush, or the Democrats ... but you know, sometimes they just deserve it. They do support war around the world and thats
something ought to be stopped.
I think it's time for a change. Vote for Peace orientated candidates and do your part in helping the world achieve a
reasonable goal. And BTW, you can also do your part by becoming a sponsor of the
'Shabby History Hour' and know that your dollars helps get the word out. Yeah, we always need money to continue sending out that message of PEACE to the public.
Let's Define World Peace - According to Webster:
Webster’s defines peace as:
1.) The absence of war or other hostilities.
2.) An agreement or a treaty to end hostilities.
3.) Freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmonious relations: Inner contentment; serenity: the peace of mind.
World peace is a future or forward ideal of freedom, peace and happiness among and within all nations.
The realization of world peace could make the idea of individual nations obsolete.
I’m not talking about the Utopian ideal of conflict-free interaction between all humans.
Although that would be nice...it’s highly unlikely. There will always be some people, acting in some manner,
in some circumstances, that are likely to get into a conflict over one thing or another.
I am saying, that there are many kinds of conflicts in the world. If we were only include armed conflicts,
world peace may simply be - the resolution of all minor conflicts through nonviolent means. (and whatever it may take to achieve that).
Today, it can be argued, that due to modern weapons, that the lethal-ness of war is so great, that there can be no possibility of net gain by either side.
In other words … no one can possibly win ... so why continue with wars?
On World Karma
Yep... there's a karma like thing going around the world.
kar-ma: Pronunciation: (kär-ma)
Orgin: Hinduism & Buddhism.
1.) The total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive
phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's destiny.
2.) Fate; destiny.
3.) Informal. A distinctive aura, atmosphere, or feeling: There's bad karma around the house today.
I am a strong believer in global karma. Feelings that are felt and shared around the world at the same time, by different peoples, from different places.
Encircling the globe, for those that are 'in tune' to pick up, understand, and 'go' with. You can 'feel this in the air' sort of speak.
The feeling I recieve, is one of the wanting of peace on a global level.
I communicate with folks from around the globe on a
daily basis, and the one thing I find common amongst all, is the want for world peace. You know, I'm talking about the every day people that
wake up and have to go to work everyday, support thier families, survive.
Anyway, from my experience, I feel people around the world want peace. Most of them are just like you and me, they're sick and tired
of a new war every 10-20 years so that governments can maintain themselves. Truth is, there's no reason for it ... there never is.
People around the world have the ability to change that. To make it come true ... and assure no more wars are ever fought.
Basically, it's 'just say no to war' Isn't it time? I doubt there's a family on the planet that hasn't lost members to a war. It's time to stop.
What gives any government, the right to kill people? ... we don't need this, if they do ... then let them kill themselves off. No, no...but really,
no need for any of this ... truth is, we have the power to stop it anytime and I feel the time is getting close, closer then ever before.
People around the world can now talk, daily ... governments can't hide what's going on anymore. Exposure to the truth is easy now.
Some may ask ...'well Shabby, if you know it all, how do we stop war then'.
You know, the answer is really easy. We vote them out .... that's right, here in the US we have that right, we have the ability
to throw out politicians that are not persueing the 'peoples will'. Yep, we do. Right at your local voting booth, yep, right down at your local school or town hall or wherever
it is you vote, we can change it.
Take It Around The World - Peace for all:
How do we take this around the rest of the world:
OK ... Here in the US can we vote for this idea. That's not true everywhere, but it is true, that the people can do it. Each on thier own level, and in thier own way.
Yep, true again, that may cause violent reactions in some places. Some world leaders may not like being pushed by the people for peace, but if enough pressure is applied, they'll give in.
Another thing to consider a strong United Nations, with the power to intervene when necessary.
Declaring, 'the world wants your people to have peace and if you can't reach that goal, it'll be reached for you and you'll not have your job for long'. I know, it's sounds corny ... but you know what?
I bet you after a few examples, it all stops.... no more wars.
Now we have to back it up. Truth is, there is more then enough of everything to share around the world.
Plenty of food, plenty of everything. Helping to feed the world is not nearly as hard as it's made out to be.
Yep, the whole world could be eating well tonight.... and all children tucked in nice and warm.
How Do I Do My Part? Does my vote really count?:
Yes it does. Every vote counts. Vote For Peace.
How Can I Help?:
Needless to say, the Radio, Website, AskShabby Column cost money to run.
If you're an individual and would like to help keep these programs running you can send Shabby $10.00 through PayPal
If you're a company or own a business read our 'Be A Sponsor' page.
A Closing Note:
Even if world peace is unachievable, it does'nt imply, that striving for it is not a
worthy goal. In a sense, it is much like trying to attain perfection. Never stop trying.
